In keeping with the broader mission of Great Hearts Texas, the GHNO Varsity Choirs exist to cultivate the hearts and minds of student musicians through participation in Beauty. Further, through a committed study of the choral art form, each choir aims to instruct the soul in the recognition of Beauty.

Participation Fees

All choirs require a fee to help pay for the various costs associated with the choral program including, but not limited to, facility rentals, robes, equipment, transportation, league fees, director stipends, and festival registration. The High School Varsity Choir Fee is $500, and the Middle School Varsity Choir Fee is $300, to be assessed in the fall. Fees may be paid in a single lump sum payment (preferred) or split up into monthly payments.

The fee for any choir must be paid before the first official day of auditions or practice. This fee is fully refundable if the student does not make a choir roster. However, should a student withdraw from a choir after cuts, if any, are announced, there will be no refund regardless of payment structure.

Student Cost Waiver

Great Hearts does not want to exclude any student from participation due to financial hardship. Eligibility for waived or reduced choir fees is initially determined according to the same standards as those found in the Free and Reduced Lunch (FRL) application.

However, if any financial difficulties remain—regardless of whether the FRL application was approved—please reach out to the music department.
